Space of the Month: Get the Look!

I love being in a community where we aim to inspire and be inspired. We showcase others’ beautiful work without disguise as our way of saying “we’re proud of you". I wanted to share a monthly inspiration space and show you the various ways you can achieve that look. This month I fell in love with Lauren Elizabeth’s living room corner.

Before we get into how to achieve this look, let me first breakdown why it works.

WHY IS IT BEAUTIFUL?

Since beauty is in the eyes of the beholder, I guess I can’t really speak on your behalf but let me explain why it is to me. I love that the design starts with a neutral foundation giving you a great blank slate to go whichever direction. In this case, she went for a more transitional look mixing modern and farmhouse styles in such a charming way. The warmness from the browns flows so well against the coldness of the actual materials like the leather, the ceramics and metals. Notice the ratio of color, tons of brown to counteract the pops of dark colors here and there but both need so much brightness around them so the room doesn’t feel dark and moody.

TO GET THE LOOK…

Hopefully you have a better understanding of how you can achieve this look on your own just by grasping the mindset behind the design. But if you still need a bit of help, I put together tiered examples on how to pull off a similar look based on your budget.

NOW WHAT?

Hopefully this shows you that any look can be achieved on any budget. If you’re like me, you’re a visual human so I always find it best to throw things together on a blank sheet to see if they work before implementing. The other beautiful aspect of this is that everything can be mixed and matched. You can easily swap out a vase from one set to the next and vice versa. There are no rules when it comes to style and design.

What’s your favorite look?
