Quarterly Trends: Winter Edition
Color of the Season
Each year, Pantone introduces its iconic Color of the Year, inspiring trends and sparking creativity across industries. They describe this year’s color as, “a warming brown hue imbued with richness… answering our desire for comfort.” The featured color for this year is [drum roll please]… Mocha Mousse!
This color is effortless to incorporate. Whether through throw blankets, statement furniture or neutral artwork, it fits perfectly into any style. To view color palettes, products, and more information click here.
Every season brings fresh opportunities for creativity and inspiration. This season, our team has selected Poetry Plum from Sherwin Williams as our signature color. If you prefer Benjamin Moore, a similar shade is Cinnamon Slate, featured in their 2025 Color Palette of the Year. These rich, soothing tones were chosen for their timeless elegance and ability to create a warm inviting atmosphere. Similar colors include Bison Brown 2113-30 and Pine Cone Brown 2113-20. If you’re looking for coordinating colors, check out Sherwin Williams’ Smart White SW 6007, Simple White SW 7021, and Rojo Dust SW 9006.
If plum shades aren’t the right fit for your space, we’ve selected a few more trending shades for you to explore. Warm desert browns are making a statement this season. Use Mocha SW 6067 and Chanterelle HC-86 to create a cozy office or a sophisticated dining room. Two other colors we’ve been appreciating are Azure Blue SW 9684 and Stained Glass CSP-685. Use these blues to craft a stately living room or memorable accent wall. Color is a powerful element in design, capable of transforming the mood and energy of any space. Incorporating thoughtful color choices can elevate your home and create a space that feels uniquely yours.

Creation of the Season
Do you have a hard time finding the perfect gift for that special someone? With Valentines Day around the corner, we’ve got you covered! Creating your own bouquet is a wonderful way to add a personal touch to any gift or space.
HERE’S OUR STEP-BY-STEP GUIDE ON HOW TO ARRANGE LIKE A PRO!
Supplies:
Flowers
Greenery
Scissors
Floral Tape or Rubberband
Kraft Paper or Fabric
Ribbon
Choose Your Flowers: Start by selecting a mix of flowers that reflect your special someone’s style or mood — choose vibrant colors for energy or soft pastels for a romantic feel, or neutral tones for a modern look. Combine different textures by mixing delicate blooms with lush greenery.
Prepare the Stems: Trim the stems at an angle to ensure they absorb water easily. Remove any leaves or thorns below the waterline to keep the bouquet fresh and clean.
Start with Greenery: Begin by arranging a base layer of greenery to create structure for your bouquet. This acts as a foundation for the rest of the flowers.
Add Focal Flowers: Place your larger, focal flowers evenly throughout the arrangement. These will be the centerpiece of your bouquet, so make sure they are spaced well.
Incorporate Filler Flowers: Fill in gaps with smaller filler flowers to add volume and create a balanced look. Let these flowers accentuate the focal blooms without overpowering them.
Layer and Adjust: Continue adding greenery and flowers in layers, Turing the bouquet and you go to maintain symmetry. Step back occasionally to adjust and ensure it looks balanced.
Bind the stems: Once you’re happy with the arrangement, secure the stems tightly with floral tape or a rubber band.
Wrap and Finish: Wrap the bouquet in Kraft paper or fabric for a polished look, and tie with ribbon. Place it in water if it’s not being gifted immediately.
Personal Focus of the Season
SARAH’S FOCUS
This winter, Sarah’s main focus is on getting her home Spring-ready. Tackling storage organization, donating any clothing, furnishings or random items they no longer use and deep-cleaning her home before the busy Spring season takes away the majority of her time. She’s also working on a fun side project: turning her office closet door into a double barn door with custom rustic French vibes. Instead of buying vintage door panels, she’s going to re-create the look herself using trim, good old sanding, white wash and aging. This has been on her list for quite some time and it will help gain space that the current door currently uses and wastes. Besides, it’s super cute!
KENDAL’S FOCUS
In 2024, Kendal launched her own furniture flipping business called Oak & Olive. Since the start, she has refurbished 6 pieces of furniture. For Kendal, furniture flipping is more than just a creative hobby— it’s a passion for breathing new life into old, forgotten pieces. It’s about seeing the hidden potential in a worn-out nightstand or a dated dresser and transforming it into something fresh, functional, and beautiful. The process of sanding, staining or painting, and reimagining turns every project into a unique work of art. It’s a rewarding way to express creativity while creating pieces that bring character and charm to any space.
