Dust It Off, Darling

Spring cleaning doesn’t have to be a top-to-bottom, knuckles are numb marathon. It doesn’t require a full weekend shutdown or a truckload of brand new bins.

What it does require is a plan. When you know what you’re tackling and in what order, everything feels lighter. Doable. Efficient.

Here is a PDF that you can save to your device that gives structure without stress and momentum without burnout. Just a simple system you can return to year after year because there is no need to reinvent the wheel.

My Approach, You Ask?!

  • Starting from the top and working my way to the bottom of each room

  • Working from one side of the house to the opposite side, not a sporadic order. Helps me see the percentage done and maybe that’s just my crazy brain but it really does help.

  • Dedicating a weekend or a few days so it’s not overwhelming

  • Planning it ahead of time so I am able to refill my cleaning supplies before I start

  • Having a cleaning cart with all your supplies, liner refills, brushes, etc.. that you can roll around from room to room! (Favorite purchase, plus it makes Devin laugh)

  • Listening to awesome music on blast! (my current fav would be hip hop, lo-fi, or alternative)

  • Treating myself at the end.. and sometimes during.
