The Støry
A lovely couple reached out in hopes of transforming their primary bathroom. Their children were all grown up, moved out onto their own lives and it was the perfect time to upgrade the home. At first, with the intent of potentially selling it but enjoying it until it. We wanted them to love it so, that it may have turned into their forever home.
The Design
The primary bathroom was the focal point of their renovation vision, combining both style and functionality to create a serene retreat. We started by understanding their preferences, focusing on timeless design elements that would appeal to future buyers while ensuring the space reflected their personal taste.
The layout was redesigned to maximize space, incorporating updated touches, technology, more storage and a spacious walk-in shower. Soft, neutral tones were chosen for the walls, flooring and floor tile while bold colors highlighted the cabinetry and wall tiles to evoke a calm atmosphere, complemented by rich accents.
We moved the walk-in shower to the original tub area to provide them with ample space for a spa-like environment. The new walk-in was a surround of large, dark-toned tile from Italy with a custom bench and built-in nook. We re-plumbed the area to cater to the new smart technology shower; a high-tech shower head with customizable water temperature, pressure and jet system to turn an everyday routine into a luxurious escape.
Lighting played a crucial role in enhancing the overall ambiance. We installed recessed bluetooth color changing lighting in the walk-in shower combined with elegant sconces above the mirrors to create a bright yet inviting atmosphere. We also installed a sloped chandelier and under-cabinet lighting creating different moods within the same space. We added smart faucets with 360º rotation and hardware that blended seamlessly with the modern aesthetic, providing both beauty and functionality. Because storage solutions were prioritized, we created custom cabinetry that was designed to not only look stunning but to provide ample space for toiletries and linens, keeping the area organized and clutter-free. We added beautiful soft custom Quartz countertops to seal the deal.
We didn’t want to stop there, so we added a shiplap accent wall to the vanity area, upgraded the entry door to a large custom dual-sided barn door, upgraded the toilet’s murphy door to match the look of the newly created barn door and added a beautiful full glass rolling shower doors. We wanted everywhere your eye looks, it finds something that relates to another area in the bathroom for seamless continuity.
The finishing touches included complementary runner, carefully curated decor, mirrors, custom shelving and vibrant greenery, giving the space a fresh and lively feel.
As the project progressed, the couple became increasingly excited about the transformation. The end result was not just a bathroom upgrade; it was a new sanctuary within their home—a place for true relaxation and rejuvenation for a very deserving couple.
