The Guest Røom
The Støry
Our beautiful clients got the awesome news that they’re expecting their third child but this meant some changes needed to happen to their existing bedroom usage. The ask was pretty straightforward: transform their guest room into an elevated guest with an office space nook so we can free up the existing office room and eventually transform it into a nursery.
The Design
Considering how modern the home is, we decided to spend the budget on upping the look vs. taking away from it. Our clients wanted to keep the existing furniture, which was a huge help in ensuring that the budget goes towards decor and accents that wow their guests.
The room sits on the larger size and it came with its own walk-in closet and ensuite bathroom. That gave Sarah the idea of adding areas to make the room more of a suite with different seating areas to cater to different activities. We also knew that we needed to transform the walls from the boring beige to something more exciting!
Since the bed comes with a headboard, we decided to add a beautiful accent piece above it but not make it an accent wall so we can save that for the new seating area! That’s right.. we also added a seating area in addition to a corner office so our client can start working from her new space.
So Sarah handmade a stunning dried floral installation for above the headboard with color notes that pull from the entire space. We highlighted the Lavender notes with hints of Pink, White and Blue which helped move the eye around the space. We added custom floating shelves, a 3D accent wall and finally decorated the space with soft modern touches. We would totally stay there, wouldn’t you?
